School/Classroom
My Room
My classroom
design changes frequently throughout the year. The set-up typically
changes with units we are studying to help facilitate the student's learning.
I have a set of windows on the northwest wall of my classroom that enables
me to send a group of students out to work on computers while still superivising
them.

Cross-Curricular Projects / Student
Work
Teaching
primarily a self-contained classroom has many benefits. One is the
ease in which cross-curriculuar projects can be utilized. Many of
our cross-curricular units originate from the social studies curriclum
and branch out into all others. It has proved to be excellent way
to disseminate information and tie together concepts for my students.

Field Trips
The
fifth grade at Burr Ridge Middle School is fortunate enough to take many
field trips throughout the year. These are some of our favorites!

Coaching
I
have had the opportunity to work with students on many levels, one of which
is coaching. For the past three years, I have coached boys and girls
cross-country for fifth through eigth graders and girls softball for sixth
through eighth graders. For the past two years, the girls softball
team has won first place in the conference tournaments. I am looking
forward to terrific seasons in both sports!
