Project Collaboration
In truth I must say that I did not collaborate to any great extent with my classmates. I do not think this was out of not wanting to, but in all practicality it was difficult to consult with others as I changed my project in mid course and had to hurry to bring it to fruition in a timely manner. Jim Bertlesen was very helpful in answering several questions I had about video. Additionally, I tried to show up at the office hours as regularly as possible to engage in helping others as best I could.
However, I did consult with others. Mr. Paul Hohulin, a colleague was very helpful with the video. He loaned me his own digital camcorder and showed me the ins and outs of its operation. Mr., Hohulin was gracious enough to let me use a copy of his own personal edition of Adobe Premiere too. Ms. Becky Hall loaned me the Dazzle USB edition. While it proved frustrating from a plug and play perspective, her support was appreciated. Two of my students, Adam Schaeffer and Robert Timothy, played important roles in filming the video and constructing the cable on camera. Robert, a recent graduate of Centennial, is 18 so I did not need a parent's release for his video appearance. I purchased two popular computer game titles and gave them to both students as a gesture of appreciation.
I would be remiss if I did not mention several texts that gave me lots of support during this project:
Lowery, Joseph. W DREAMWEAVER 4 BIBLE, Hungry Minds Inc. 2001. (THE resource for Dreamweaver 4.0. No other book I've examined comes close to its depth and its clarity.)
Bolante, Anthony. Visual Quickstart Guide for Premiere 6.0, Peachpit Press. 2000. (A great resource for explaining the ins and outs of how Premiere works. Many visuals of Premiere's features.)
Lee, Lisa. Macromedia Fireworks 4.0 Fast & Easy Web Development. Prima Tech. 2000. (Not as good as Lowery's Fireworks Bible, but a good reference with lots of visual examples.)
