Jan Swenson Questions (ISBE-related)

1. Which technologies served as your start-up technologies? Who selected

the technologies and specific hardware and software? How did you

anticipate them being used? How were they used by teachers and students

during the program? How are they being used today?

 

2. What type of staff development sessions were offered? What was the

expertise level of the teachers involved? Who was in charge of staff

development? What have teachers done with the technologies since their

initial training?

 

3. Who received the release time for administration of the ISBE project? Are

they written into the new grant? What is their current position?

1. Who was involved in the development of the NEF proposal? What are

each of their positions? Briefly, what role did each play in proposal

development?

 

2. Why was Wildwood selected as your core project school?

 

3. Briefly, how would you assess the technology status of each of your

schools? Are any of them involved in projects similar to those of Wildwood?

 

4. How would you assess progress in achieving proposed goals at this point?

Which aspects are well under way? Which aspects are still in the early stages

of development?

 

5. What do you see as the major initiatives be undertaken at this point? Who

do you suggest I speak with regarding each individual initiative set forth in

your proposal?

 

6. What hardware and software was purchased using the new grant? Who

selected the technologies and specific hardware and software? How do/will

they complement the technologies purchased through the 1997 ISBE grant?

How do you anticipate them being used? For the items that have been

purchased thus far, how are they being used today? How do you anticipate

using them in the future?

 

7. What is the status of the fulltime LCT coordinator? What are their job

responsibilities?

 

8. Who is heading up the evaluation activities of the LCT program thus far?.

What type of data do you anticipate using to help realize your district plan of

providing leadership in learning with computer technologies?

 

9. How do you anticipate aligning your evaluations of technology usage with

other district evaluations regarding preparation of students for the future?

 

Lee Daniels (Principal) Questions

1. Who was involved in the development of the NEF proposal? What are

each of their positions? Briefly, what role did each of those involved in

proposal development play?

 

2. Why was Wildwood selected as the core project school? Are any other

district schools involved in projects similar to those of Wildwood?

 

3. Off the top of your head, how would you assess progress in achieving

proposed goals at this point? Which aspects are well under way? Which

aspects are still in the early stages of development?

 

4. What do you see as the major initiatives be undertaken at this point? Who

do you suggest I speak with regarding each individual initiative outlined in

the proposal?

 

5. May I get a list of teachers and their teaching responsibilities? Which

teachers do you believe to be most knowledgeable regarding history of

technology usage at the school and current technology-based activities at

the school, both inside and outside the classroom.

 

Fulltime LCT Coordinator

1. What are your job responsibilities at this point?

 

2. In your new capacity, what are the major initiatives you have begun. What

would you like to accomplish? What do you see as the major potential

problems in accomplishing all of the goals that you have set forth? What do

you plan to accomplish by the end of this school year? What do you plan to

accomplish by the end of the second year of funding?

 

3. What role do you play in the "Student Training" component of the

proposal? Am I correct in assuming that the "Student Training" component of

the proposal (new courses in technologies and learning, curriculum

integration across subject areas and integration across learning styles) is

really staff development? Is student training actually a component of the

program. If so, how will it be done?

 

4. What is the current status of teacher training? Who does teacher training?

What has been done in the past? What changes do you anticipate in teacher

training in the future?

 

5. What is the status of the LCT Master Teachers team? Who are the

members of that team? What curriculum changes have occurred up to this

point? What curriculum changes do you anticipate this team implementing

by the end of the school year? by the end of the second year of this project?
