ESSAY 1: Fisher (Post-survey)

Question:After learning more about Fisher and students from there this year,
what do you now feel are the good and bad points about life in central Illinois
farm towns?
-Describe what you think the people who live there are like.
-Which place do you now think is a better place to live: Benton or Fisher?  Why?

I don't really know what they are like because I have never
met them or seen them so I don't really know what they are
like.

Benton is a better place to live but I don't know what
central Illinois is like.

Regarding the questions above.  I did not learn anything
about Fisher.  So I can not answer the good and bad points
about living in a small Central Illinois farm town.  I do
not know what the people are like from Fisher, or where
would be a better place to live Benton or Fisher.

In the paragraphs above, there were questions asked about
the town of Fisher.  I cannot answer these questions because
I have not had enough contact with these students and not
enough communications with these people.  The reason why I
didn't make contact with them, or learn more about them, was
because they didn't put enough things about themselves in
the mediaspace.  I am sorry that I cannot answer these
questions.

During this project, I haven't been fortunate enough to
learn a whole lot about the students and the community of
Fisher.  I did, however see some pictures of the community
on the web and it looks very nice.  Since I haven't learned
very much [,] that makes my answer kind of invalid, but I
still feel Benton is a better place to live.

I do not know anything new about Fisher.  Our class never
got to communicate with Fisher schools.  I would like to
learn new things about Fisher.  I am interested.  Maybe our
class will go to their web pages and we can learn more about
their schools.

Through the last school year, I have had a lot of fun
looking on the media space at the projects that the kids
from Chicago and Fisher have created.  However, I wasn't
able to intake a whole lot of information from Fisher
because the lack of communication between Fisher and us.  We
did a lot more communicating with Chicago than we did
Fisher.

We did not have the privilege of learning more about Fisher
Grade School because they did not add very much to the media
space program on the internet so therefore we did not get to
learn more about there [sic] community.

I do not know what the people are like in the Fisher Grade
School because we did not get to communicate with them over
the Internet.

I like living in Benton but I don't know what life is like
in Fisher so I do not know where I would like to live.

To be completely honest we haven't had any communication
with them or looked into anything about them or their
community.  I have not really learned anything about them
through the I-57 project.  However, I do feel that that
[sic] it would have been good to have time to communicate
with both them and Main [sic] East but, we only made contact
with the students from Main East.  I am interested though
and would like to learn about life at Fisher.

As I said in my first response,  I have not communicated
with them or learned anything about Fisher through the I-57
project.

Again I have not communicated with the students at Fisher
but again, I would like to.

I really couldn't tell you anything about Fisher because we
were unable to communicate with the students there.  We have
only seen a couple of pictures from them and that's all.  We
have not talked or e-mailed anyone from there.  My knowledge
about Fisher grade school still remains the same.

I honestly have never studied, or researched about Fisher
County.  I wish I knew more other than the name of the
county!  I am sure If I had a choice to live anywhere else
in Illinois I would choose Benton, I grew up in this county
what can I say!

I would like to be honest with this subject so I will [,] as
you will read the following.  I, we, didn't have hardly any
contact what so ever [sic] with Fisher Grade School.  There
wasn't hardly any things [sic] on mediaspace or sent to us
through mail, e-mail, exc. [sic]  So I have to conclude that
I didn't learn very much of anything about Fisher Grade
School.  I really do not know what they are like either, or
to compare about our place with theirs.  Like I said.  I do
not know what its [sic] like to live there, so I could not
give you a reasonable, honest answer.

Regarding the questions above.  I have no information about
Fisher because we did not communicate with Fisher through
the internet.  I'm sure that it would have been very
interesting though.

The I-57 project was very educational.  The paragraph above
[the essay question] is asking that I describe what I feel
about Central Illinois farm towns.  Well, to be honest I
learned absolutely nothing about Fisher.  There was very
small contact with them.  Basically, the answer to all the
questions is that there was very little contact at all with
the kids at Fisher.

If I had to answer the question of which place is better to
live my answer would be Benton.  Benton is a great town and
a wonderful place to live.  This town has many great
features.

To be honest with you I have not looked into Fisher.  They
do not have a lot out on the web so I really do not know
much about them.  However, I would like to get to know more
about their school and the community in which they live in.

As I said in the first question we have not observed much
about Fisher.  Even though they have some information [,] we
have mainly been communicating with Chicago.  So we have not
had a lot of time to look into their town and their
projects.

I think that the town that I live in is a better place to
live in.  I think that our own town is better because of
many reasons.  One reason is the crime rate and the gangs
[,] the violence.  We have hardly any of that in our
community and I am glad that we do not.  It makes me feel
much safer in my town.

I am not really too sure about what the good and bad points
would be from living in a small farm town like Fisher,
Illinois.  I don't know too much about their town because
they didn't put too much on [the web] about their life, and
we didn't get to e-mail them.

I don't know what the people from Fisher are like because as
I mentioned above, they didn't put too much on about
themselves and we didn't get to e-mail or anything similar
to that with them.

I don't really have an opinion on which place is better.  As
I said, they didn't put too much on [the web].
