Activity #9:  Literacies

I don't know if I understood the assignment right and therefore I am not sure if I did the assignment right or not, but here it is.

Through this assignment I learned a lot about how people may be able to use the internet to improve writing and reading skills.  It was interesting to find this one web site about people try to test President candidates of their internet literacy skills.  At first, I did not understand the full implications of the survey, why it would be so  important for the candidates to know how to use computers, how much they use the internet, e-mail, and all.  However, I could see to some extent that it is a somewhat important quality of a candidate to be able to learn a new technology that is useful for everyday life.  Furthermore, the usage of computer is becoming larger everyday. Therefore, I find the importance of surveying how much the leading people in the country are keeping up with the current issue in people's daily lives.
I guess I realize more and more how computer and internet has been becoming a crucial part of people's lives!!

If you want to visit the website for that, here is the address..

The second website that I visited for the internet literacy amazed me for their creativity and as well for their confidence in internet education.  It's something very new to me, I guess.  I've known that internet is used as a tool to be utilized in classes, but not as a whole curriculum itself.  It opened my eyes and I agreed to this particular program how it would develop students' reading and writing skills.  Very interesting curriculum!  Please visit and see what you think of it.
