Globally, the world will be smaller in that people can communicate with their friends in differents parts of the world so easily and quickly. They can even talk to each other and see each other's picture on the screen. People will not need to leave their houses to get the information they want. Computers will be in almost every house, and hopefully the costs of software and internet connect will go down!

Educationally, I believe with this massive growth of computer software and internet a lot of things are going to take place in education. First, the teacher probably will not be seen the only provider of knowledge. His role in the learning process will be reduced. For students will be able to get everything they want from their computers at home, at absolutely any time. I wonder what the teacher's role will be be like at that time. Certainly, there will be less teacher-centered classrooms. There might also be less face-to -face instruction, as most of the interaction will be between the student and the computer. I am worried that there may not be as many chances for students to communicate and socialize with each other, one of the most important skill in school.

Also, there will be even whole schools that offer teaching on the internet but may not have physical existence. Students will be learning on-line. Moreover, students may be more knowledgeable than their teachers if the latter do not familiarize themselves with what's going on.

Using the internet, students will find learning in general more interesting and consequently more motivating because of the way information is presented and the huge resources available for students.
