Art Education and Public

Art education is one of the most important fields in the study of education because it affects learners from childhood to graduation.  Art education gives a child a good opportunity to differentiate between what s/he thinks and what s/he does, develops a new scale, gives a child an idea of how to observe and analyze things in a new way.  All these possibilities will grow within the child and will be useful whether s/he becomes an engineer, an artist, writer, actor or teacher.
Social life is the first subject in a child's art.  Through his/her artwork, we can understand the child's thinking, problems and needs.  This kind of study children art psychology's a new field in child therapy.  It is the easiest way to read a child's thinking.
Art education encourages the student to be more accurate in his/her work, which helps the student in future endeavors to accomplish tasks in the correct manner.  There are many majors related to the field of art, for example, architecture, engineering and general education.
In this paper, we will study how much people know about art education, what they think about art education activities, will they support it if we ask them to do so and whether or not art education relates to their daily lives.
In our study we asked ten people about art education.  The first question was, "Do you know anything about art education?" We found that 40 percent knew it very well, 40 percent knew nothing and 20 percent knew something about art education.
The second question asked, "Do you think that art education relates to our daily lives?" Forty percent said yes, 30 percent said sometimes and 30 percent said not at all.
The third question inquired, "From your point of view, do you think that art education is important in our daily lives?" Fifty percent said sometimes while the other half said very well.
The fourth question queried, "Do you think that art education relates to other fields of study?" Ten percent said not at all, 20 percent said sometimes and 70 percent said very well.
The fifth question was, "Is there a relationship between art and history?" Twenty percent of the respondents answered not at all, 20 percent said there was some relationship, but the majority or 60 percent, said yes, there is a strong relationship between art and history because art is a part of history.
The sixth question dealt with children and art education: "How would you rate the importance of art education for our children today?" Fifty percent responded that art education was very important.  Fifty percent also felt that it was not important to children's education.
Question number seven asked, "How would you rate the importance of art education for people's lives today?" Thirty percent responded that it doesn't relate to the people's lives today.  Another 30 percent said art education was relevant while the remaining 40 percent confirmed the importance of art education in people's lives today.
In response to question number eight, 60 percent of the group said they would not support summer art education programs with their tax dollars, 30 percent said if they could
and the remaining 1 0 percent said yes, they would be supportive of these activities.
When asked if they would be willing to support art education as weekend
volunteers, 60 percent of the group said no, 30 percent said if they had the time and only 1 0 percent said yes.
The final question was, "Did you enjoy art classes when you were a child?" Thirty percent answered no, 50 percent answered kind of and .20 percent said very much.
Most of the answers I received were what I expected.  I found that less than 50 percent of the people knew something about art education.  They were ready to help and participate in any programs in this field.
My respondents were educated most held MAs and PhDs.  I would have expected different results if my respondents had less education than these people.
Art education needs more support, not less, in my country, but also in developed countries like the United States, because art education programs in the United States have begun to disappear.  However, art education programs in my country give students time to learn more about crafts and to have fun.  In the United States art education gives students classes to build their skills in arts and crafts.
Art education programs have taken their first steps in Saudi Arabia because this country was founded in 1935, we still have an ambitious plan to improve our children's futures.
From this study we can say that the majority of people surveyed are not familiar with art education because the programs are not made relevant to people's daily lives.  Such programs are frequently neglected by governments in most countries, particularly in developing countries.
