To begin the Traveler's
Graphic Journal, you will be assigned to a Research and Design Team consisting
of 4 members. The entire team will be responsible for the success
of the project but each team member will have a specific tasks to complete.

You and your teacher
will decide your specific role as part of the Research and Design Team.
Individual effort and team communication are important components of the
process. You will use the Internet and other sources of information
to make this simulated journey come to life.

Join a Research
Team
After the
Research Teams have been formed,
click on the
name of the job you have selected and read
about your
activities and responsibilities......
Geographer

Second Step
Select a route
between any two major cities:
Example:
Seattle to
Chicago
San Francisco
to St. Louis
New York to
Denver
New Orleans
to Minneapolis
Use MapQuest
to scout out your route.
(You
and your Travel Team can only select one route. Your teacher may assign
a route to each group.)

Using
Graphics to Illustrate Your Journal
You can easily
capture graphics from the Internet to illustrate your Journal.
Your teacher
will review some of the techniques you can use to locate and save images
in a special file while you are creating your Traveler's Graphic Journal.
Be sure to
use the "save as" command to save your graphics in JPEG or GIF format.
Keep all your
graphics in one folder.
The Designer
is responsible for organizing the graphics.

Use a word
processor to write a daily entry in your Traveler's Graphic Journal.
Your teacher
will give you directions concerning how to add information and graphics
to your Journal every day.
The Historian
gives the Writer important information to add to your Journal.
The Designer
gives the Writer suggestions for graphics to illustrate the text.

Finally
Write Word Document about what went on during
your trip.
Also, Develop a web page or PowerPoint show to
explain what you did and where you went!!!!!
