A Traveling Journal

Project Web site
Project:
Plan a road trip between two major cities in the United States!!!
(At least 1,000 Miles apart)
(Ex. Seattle to Chicago)
(2,000 +)
Project goals
This project is designed to provide students with an opportunity to travel between two major cities via the Internet.  Along their journey students will record different bits of information about what they do, see, and experience.  The students will use the Internet and other sources of information to take a virtual journey, recording their "experiences" as they visit the cities and towns along a 1,000 plus mile route that will take them through big cities, farmland, and rugged mountain passes. For the next several days, they will learn how people live, where they work, and how they play.  The students will record in their journeys and will join a Travel Team and work together to write a narrative of their experiences illustrated with photographs, maps, charts, and other graphics.
Areas of Study
The Journal project is designed to include geography, science, and math. All the students who participate will gather data along the trip and record it in their journals.
Grade Level:
The journal project is designed to be grade level appropriate for any classroom.  Like any well written project, it can easily be modified and adapted for varying student levels.
