Distance education and online pedagogy is an area I hope to research soon. Methodologies which encourage active learning and student engagement are very interesting to me. For instance how does a teacher facilitate an online combinational synchronous and asynchronous class to do active learning and be engaged in lectures where they cannot see the instructor but can only hear them? I believe more study is needed on inquiry based and project based activities, teacher facilitation skills, and faculty/student communication via the web for learning applications. |
