IIntroduction
What do you know about the great city you live in?  Springfield, Illinois is the capitol of Illinois and Abraham Lincoln once lived  in Springfield.  You will become an explorer and find out much more about this great city.
 

*  Your task is to find out all you can about Springfield, Illinois.
*     In  groups of 4, you will each pick a task to find out.
*     Each of you will be checking out web sites and tapping into your very 
       own brain ower to learn about Springfield, Illinois.
*     Each group will then put together their information into a Kidpix 
       Slideshow presentation and show it to the class.

To begin your exploration of Springfield, this is what you will need to do:

1.  First you'll be assigned to a group of 5 students.
2.  Each of you will need to pick a role as an explororer.  In order to find out the responsibility of each exploration, click on a particular quest to reveal your questions and links.
3.  Once each of you has picked an area to explore, start gathering your 
     information and, most of all, have fun!
4.  Use the questions to guide you and draw pictures or save graphics to help  make your final project look great!

     After you have found the answers to your questions, design your final project.  Here are some tips and requirements for your final project.

    Requirements for Kidpix Slideshow
Each group will need to make a title page and report what you found out about Springfield, Illinois.  You  may write the answers to your questions.   Add at least one picture to your presentation.

You will also be evaluated on your participation with the following rubric.
 

Conclusion

You have finished exploring Springfield, Illinois!  Now you can tell others all about our great city!
