Experiences Using the Cybersurfari Internet Treasure Hunt

Our class is looking for school teams or individuals to share their experiences with the current Cybersurfari Internet Treasure Hunt.  We are looking for teams or individuals to share what they have learned from finding the answers to one or two clues.  We will take the information gathered and create a web page to share these experiences.

Participants

Email the project coordinator, Darren Loschen, with your intent to participate and the following information (1) first name will do, (2) state or country, and (3) email address.  Please visit the Cybersurfari web site at http://www.cybersurfari.org and register if you have not been there before.  If you are willing to share your keycode, that would be appreciated so the project coordinator can track the amount of clues participants have found.  Project coordinator's email address is darrenl@armstrong.k12.il.us

Information to share

After sending the required information to the project coordinator and then registering at the Cybersurfari web site, begin hunting for answers to some of the clues provided at the Cybersurfari web site.  Once you have found some answers choose one or two to share and email the project coordinator with the following information:
  1. Starting point and clue number  (Example:  Techlearning CyberStation, Clue #1 Neuroscience for Kids)
  2. Summary of clue given
  3. Answer to clue
  4. Steps taken to find the answer (they don't have be exact) and the difficulty
  5. Anything interesting to share while discovering the answer

Deadline

The first deadline will be June 30, 2002.  Please email information by then.  The deadline will change as the Cybersurfari Internet Treasure Hunt begins new treasure hunt.  Information gathered will be sent to all participants.

Coordinator

Darren Loschen, technology coordinator/teacher at Armstrong Township High School, is the project coordinator.  He has used the Cybersurfari web site in his classroom previously and is looking to share his students' experiences.  He is currently a master's student at the University of Illinois in the CTER program.
