  • Earth Explorer (Apple, 1995) - This CD is an interactive encyclopedia providing information about the environment. It provides a wealth of information through photos, news clips, articles, etc. It would be an excellent resource for use in Problem Based Learning activities.
  • Odell Down Under (1995) - This problem-solving computer game is a favorite of students. Alone it has little value other than as entertainment. But, when paired with a follow-up written response by students on what they learned, it becomes a learning tool for which students realize the purpose.
  • The New Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia (Grolier Inc., Release 6)- This CD is a user-friendly computer encyclopedia with a wide range of materials available for multiple topic use. It is yet another source of accurate and easily accessible information.
  • The Writing Center (The Learning Center, Version 1.0) - The Writing Center is a word processing program. It is easy for students to use and has multiple applications in publishing student works.
  • 3D Atlas (Electronic Arts, Version 1.0) - This CD-ROM is applicable in various subjects. It is used just as any atlas may be used. Unlike real atlases, the students can print materials, manipulate maps, etc.
  • Science Essentials (FOSS, 1995) - This laserdisc is part of the Science Essentials FOSS science series taught in District #186. It has video segments on water subjects such as clouds, rain, etc. When properly trained, students can use this laserdisc independently or in small groups as a learning center.
