Illinois Natural Resources Geospatial Data Clearinghouse: "This site is a gateway to GIS data and imagery for Illinois geology, hydrology, natural history, conservation, environment, land use, Public Land Survey, and infrastructure. These data have been made available by several divisions of the Illinois DNR and address such topics as groundwater, wells, mines, geologic materials, nature preserves, wildlife areas, administrative and political boundaries, roads, census information, and many others."
Illinois Natural History Survey: This page gives you links to the centers for biodiversity, entomology, aquatic ecology, and wildlife ecology.
Illinois State Water Survey: This page is the entry level page to the three major Divisions of the water survey: Atmospheric Sciences, Chemistry, and Hydrology. The site includes resources and contacts dealing with state and local water issues.

ArcView GIS Version 3.0 (Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc.): Geographic Information System software for desktop GIS and mapping. ArcView gives the power to visualize, explore, query, and analyze data geographically.
