During group work observe student behaviors.  Give each student a rating of 4,3,2,1 or 0.  These scores can then be calculated for grading purposes or used for future group compilation. If students are new to group work, you may want to choose 3 or 4 criteria initially and then add additional criteria as they become more acquainted with the expectations of group cooperation.
