After each chapter test is reviewed
- students are given another opportunity to show what they've learned-

Notebook Assignments

Option 1: To be used with students with IEP's, ESL, and lower ability students.

Each student receives a copy of the chapter topics to use when responding in their notebooks.  Each of the notebook assignments can then be graded using the copy of the topic page.  Have students put their names on the topic page and staple to their notebook responses.  Then use the topic page to check off information covered.

Option 2: To be used with students who are unable to express themselves using written language.

Each student is asked to orally respond, point out, and/or demonstrate the topics below.

Option 3: To be used with higher ability students.

Students are given lesson titles to prompt their writing.  They are to include everything they remember about the lesson.

Put a check next to each topic for a definition, another if they included examples or an additional explanation. Don't forget to include checkmarks for any other information they included that was discussed in the chapter. Translate the checklist to a score using the chart below or one of your own.
