The Auburn Support Team is a group of Auburn Staff members
who are trained in the Student Assistance Program (SAP), a school based
intervention program involving the whole school community.
*To identify students whose academics performance, behavior, attendance, or health indicate that they may have problems or be at risk for problems which may or may not be related to substance abuse. *To assemble an objective profile of a student's overall functioning in the school setting.
The AST Core Team reviews the information and makes a determination to either: *take no action at this time, indicating that the overall profile of the referred student revealed no significant problems or that the problems are already being addressed by outside resources *creates an action plan to address the problem
areas identified by the data and to develop helpful intervention strategies.
Usually the first step that the
Core Team will take is to set up a conference with the concerned parties.
During this conference, the information that is gathered is shared and
discussed from the child's perspective. Together they will develop
a plan to address the child's problem areas.
Any concerned individual may tell the core team about their concerns for a student. There will be an AST mailbox located in the school offices for written referrals. You may email the team below to refer a student.
Who are the Support Team Core Members? You may contact any of the Support Team Core Members.
