Auburn District #10 LAN

The network in the high school lab was set up by Don Stillwell.  He is a self taught- learn by doing technology pioneer for the district.  The servers he installed each have 7 cd drives so that programs can be used by the lab computers by running off the servers.  His lab's network operating system is Novell's Netware 3.12.  It is used to control the operation of the file server and to cooperate with the workstation operating system.   It also serves as security guard by controlling access to file directories.

Don currently backs up his files once a month onto CDs.  His network has run all year with the only set backs created from the elementary network connection. He is in the process of redoing his connections to clean up the massive wires invading his office.

The elementary has two servers with 7 cd drives.  Each server is backed up nightly using a program called- Retrospect.  It is programmed to save each night at 10pm using DAT drive.
The network software used is ANAT (administrators network assistance toolkit) for Macs. The program "At Ease" is used as a security system to keep the students from tampering with the hard drives.
