Auburn's Support- When you don't know where to go!

Technology at Auburn is still very new.  It is hard to know where to go for help.  If you don't want to bother Jerri or Don try looking for answers here.  Most of the software programs for the district also have links and/or booklets you can use to find answers to software problems.  Those will be located in the computer labs in the building.  Just Ask!
 
 

Facts you should know:

• Auburn District #10 has a firewall that presently does not allow movies or sound.  If you enter a page that uses video or audio the network will through you off line.
• The firewall also currently makes uploading and downloading information impossible- sorry no student web pages unless you use xoom.com- go ahead register- it's fast and FREE
• The best way to make your own teacher page when starting out is using School Notes- you can do this if you can fill out a form. Also Fast and Free!
• The Epson 740 printers in the elementary school have booklets that show you how to change your ink and various problem solving tips in the computer lab.
• Most software has a Help Section built into the program- go the the 'Help' at the top of the page.

How to Find things on the internet-  All the search engines, tools, indexes you'll ever need.
 

Email Tutorial- explains how email works-"laymen terms" and gives easy to follow instructions for various programs.

Hyperstudio Support- They have lots of info here to help with Hyperstudio here.
 

Netscape Navigator-  This is the 'Help' page for Netscape.
 

Netscape Composer-  Use this to make web pages- this makes it EASY!   REAllY!
 

Oregon Trail-  Need some background information to teach before sending them West?

Support for Mac Users- links to Mac games, industries, articles
 

Quicktime4.0- this is for movies- probably home use only for now.

Teacher's Planet- full range of possiblities here- really fed up?- they even have job options- lessons, library, lounge, supplies, and tons of links and resources.
