Background:
One of the science units on
our sixth grade curriculum deals with endangered animals. The goals
of this unit include: learning what some of the endangered animals of the
world are, why these animals are endangered, how humans contribute to the
endangerement/extinction of species, and how humans can prevent animal
endangerment/extinction. In the past, I have taught this unit primarily
using the textbook and assigning an engangered animal poster project.
This year I used the Internet as the primary source of information and
replaced the poster project with Power Point slide shows.
