Online Parent Teacher Conferences

This project is a design for conducting Parent-Teacher conferences online. It includes a student portfolio, teacher comments on the student's performance, and a forum for parents to share their views on the child's schoolwork.

Tour the USA

Tour the USA is a web quest I created that challenges my third graders to research ten famous United States landmarks and then plan a road trip to visit the landmarks. Students then take a simulated trip around the country and prepare a slide show with photos they took on their journey.

What Belongs on Santa's Tree: A Play in Spanish and English

My class in Idaho is approximately one-third Spanish speaking. My students chose to adapt a play entitled, A Flea on Santa's Tree, by adding Spanish parts. The basic idea of the play is that Santa's tree is all decorated, but it is missing a tree-topper. Various characters audition for the honor of topping Santa's tree, but the elves tell them they are not quite right for the job. Finally, the angel, Santa's personal assistant, expresses her frustration that Santa is working too hard and needs to stop and eat his lunch. She says all this from the position atop the tree. The elves are thrilled because they have found their tree topper!
