geography projects

Many of my CTER projects have either directly involved my geography students or have been created with them in mind.

Below are links to some examples of my work, as well as a brief synopsis of each project.

In the fall of 2000, I used Blackboard's threaded listserv to facilitate classroom discussions, and the results were somewhat surprising.
In June 2002, I conducted an online experiment to see how much of the world participants could map from memory in fifteen minutes. For many, it was not their fifteen minutes of fame...
This project was created for a class on assessment, and was a revision of an assignment I had done with my students before. Students construct an island for a fictitious client, then create the island's natural history, applying what they know about geographic concepts and processes.
This claymation movie shows the title characters hopelessly lost, until Topoman comes to the rescue and teaches them what they need to know about topographic maps to find their way to the Alpine Music Festival.
