Lesson 7

Pre-Lesson Activity: The needed elements will have been put into place by the teacher for page 7 which includes the percentage scores for Reading, Language, Math and Spelling. PowerPoint creates the graph associated and it will be input with each students folder.

Objective: The students are given the task of deciding what they would like to do on the page entitled "My Own Design". They can use any of the technologies we have used during this project, or one that we have used within the school timeframe.

Materials needed: PowerPoint template page 8, Computer, digital camera, scanner, and any other program used up to this point for example KidPix.

Time span:

  • 1- 40 minute period to decide and map out
  • 2-40 minute periods to complete the design.

Procedure:

  • Students will decide what technologies they want to use for the page.
  • Students will map out on paper what they want their page to represent.
  • Students will then use the technology with assistance and complete the page.
  • Students will save this page.

Follow-up Activity: A copy of the completed portfolio will be printed out so that the students each receive a hard copy after Parent-Teacher conferences. We will practice the art of clicking to the next slide during an entire class presentation.
