Instructional Strategies Ideas for Parents

The purpose of this web site is to provide information on reading and related resources for those working in the System of Support Division at the Illinois State Board of Education.  It is important to understand the components of reading and also the tools available for screening and diagnosis of reading problems. Intervention plans and instructional strategies are critical to helping children become successful readers. Reading aloud to children is an important activity to provide them with the knowledge needed to become successful readers. This site was developed as my final project for course EdPsy 490i in the Curriculum Technology & Education Reform (CTER) Master's Program at the University of Illinois.  CTER   It is a personal site and is not ISBE endorsed or approved.
