“Life
Beyond Yahoo:
Evaluating Information.”
The information conveyed on this
website is very practical and easy to understand. The page is not an article, but gives a
simple outline of questions one should ask in evaluating a website and its
validity, and if the information is fact or opinion. I believe the site focuses on the main
problems schools face today with students believing everything they read and
consider it the facts without checking the source or finding additional
information.
The website also gives a nice rubric
to help clarify the questions one should ask about a reference on the
internet. The rubric describes 5
criteria for evaluating websites. The
idea of checking and finding additional resources is validated by this site by
the incredible list of additional sites they give to the searcher. The site lists emails and sites its sources
on the information they are including in their explanations.
