The Sausage Software contains many different HTML editors and editors for all levels. Sausage Software also offers web making tool kits that help with creating original animations, an image software to change any image, or even a texture program. HotDog Professional 6 is the newest in the HTML editor line from Sausage. There are others available such as: HotDog PageWiz and HotDog Junior.
Good Points
This software is intended for the advanced HTML editor, but a less advanced user has the abilities to use the program but can struggle like I did for awhile. The program offers a few perks to help the less advanced WegPage maker. The toolbars and icons make webpage creation much simpler than just inserting HTML codes. One item that is very useful is the insert toolbar which includes pictures, links, lines, tables,lists, definition lists, and embedded items. The designer does not need to know all codes because many are included with the program. This program supports: HTML,Java Script, and CSS.
Many codes and features are just inserted with the click of a button. The Help Contents explains the sets needed for many advanced and beginning processes. HotDog also allows for a user to make tables, forms, frames, animations, or navigation tools by themselves or with the use of the VERY helpful Wizards.
Hot Dog Professional 6 allows the user to create webpages from scratch and from templates. One is also allowed to begin a website by starting a new document or by using the WebWizard, which sets up all of the folders and connects the FTP and server site from the onset. This makes publishing much easier than many other programs.
Overall this is a great program with many great features. It is user friendly and offers many aspects that are impossible to show all in one webpage without overloading a site with information. I have shown some of the great aspects and how I made a couple of pages with HotDog Professional 6.
COST The program costs $99.00 and one may do a free 30 day trial. I believe this program is worth the price and is most beneficial for schools. It is a bit expensive for an individuall use, but has wonderful features.
The Downfalls
The only downfalls to the program are the explanations for some of the advanced tools. I wanted to embed a file and could not find a wizard or a good explanation in the help contents. It did take a bit long to figure out some of the frames, animation, and forms, but I did and learned a lot. I would not say I am advanced at all and believe I created a couple of satisfactory pages. Once I found the wizards, all was much simpler, but they are not obvious upon opening the pogram.
