Newsletter:
Connecting Students and Curriculum
Conexiones
Students will create a newsletter describing
topics from their advanced Geography class and Spanish class. The
newsletter will be published on the web and disbursed on paper. Students
will integrate various forms of technology (scanners, digital camera and
video, web page programs, Microsoft Publisher). The students involved
are in the gifted program and some are high achieving students in lower
levels. The students will share their newsletter with the Spanish classes
and there will be assignments from this sharing. There is also hope
of sharing information with other school districts and having a part of
the newsletter be interactive on the internet.
What I'll learn:
I want to look at the motivation that sparks these students to go to the
next level. The students involved are high achievers and I want to
integrate more critical thinking in the classes. I hope to see more
creativity and an expansion on Spanish vocabulary through a natural writing
process. Finally, I would like to see the students make connections
in their classes and note how they all permit interaction.
Kind of learners:
The learners are seventh and eight grade students. The eight grade
students are involved in the gifted program and the seventh graders are
also gifted but not involved in classes in the program.
Access to those learners:
I teach all of these learners and see them daily.
