Lesson 1 – Title Page Template
Objective: Create Title Page
Materials: Computer, PowerPoint, Quick Cam, title page template
Pre-lesson Activities: The teacher will take each student’s picture using the Quick Cam and save each picture to a student’s individual folder. This will help in the ease of retrieving items when needed.
Procedures:
Students will:
1. Type their name in the designated spot
on the template.
2. Choose a font and color and highlight
their names to change the font and color.
3. Insert Quick Cam picture in the designated
area on the template with assistance from the teacher.
Lesson 2 – Back to School Template
Objective: Create Back to School Page
Materials: Computer, PowerPoint, 35 mm camera, scanner, back to school template
Pre-lesson Activities: Teacher
will take pictures using a 35 mm camera on the first day of school and
have the film developed. Pictures will be scanned (with students watching)
and saved to individual folders. Students will write a sentence about how
they felt on the first day of school.
Procedures:
Students will:
1. Insert their picture in the designated
area on the template.
2. Use the sentence previously written and
type the text onto the template.
3. Save their work to their folder.

3 – Field Trip Template
Objective: Create Field Trip Page
Materials: Computer, PowerPoint, digital camera, field trip template
Pre-lesson Activities: Teacher will take pictures using a digital camera while on a field trip which will be saved to individual folders. Students will write about their field trip (either research based or creative).
Procedures:
Students will:
1. Insert their picture in the designated
area on the template.
2. Use the sentence(s) previously written
and type the text onto the template.
3. Save their work to their folder.
Lesson 4 – School-Wide Celebration/Event Template
Objective: Create School-Wide Celebration or Event Page
Materials: Computer, Kid Pix, PowerPoint celebration/event template
Pre-lesson Activities: Students will use Kid Pix to draw or stamp a picture representing their school-wide celebration or event and save to folder. Students will write a sentence(s) about the school celebration or event.
Procedures:
Students will:
1. Insert their Kid Pix picture in the designated
area on the template.
2. Use the sentence(s) previously written
and type the text onto the template.
3. Save their work to their folder.
Lesson 5 – Performance Template
Objective: Create Performance Page
Materials: Computer, PowerPoint, performance template
Pre-lesson Activities: Students will write a sentence(s) about the class/school/group performance.
Procedures:
Students will:
1. Insert clip art related to the performance
and position correctly on template.
2. Use the sentence(s) previously written
and type the text onto the template.
3. Save their work to their folder.
Objective: Create Holiday Page
Materials: Computer, PowerPoint, performance template, CD-ROM Encyclopedia
Procedures:
Students will:
1. Use a CD-ROM encyclopedia to research
a holiday.
2. Write about the researched holiday and
type onto template.
3. Use copy and paste to insert pictures
from CD-ROM onto template.
4. Save their work to their folder.
Lesson 7 – Student of the Week Template
Objective: Create Student of the Week Page
Materials: Computer, PowerPoint, student of the week template
Procedures:
Students will:
1. Type some personal information about
themselves on template.
2. Use the internet (with teacher supervision)
to find a web site of interest to them.
3. Make a link to their web site of interest.
4. Record their voice telling something
special about themselves.
5. Save their work to their folder.
Lesson 8 – PowerPoint Presentation
Obective: Create PowerPoint Slide Show
Materials: computer, PowerPoint
Procedures:
Teacher and students will:
1. Add transitions between slides.
2. Add any background music to presentation.
3. Practice clicking to the next slide during
the presentation or set up the presentation to proceed automatically using
our timings.
4. View the completed slide show.
