Network Support

Computer Services is located at Lanphier High School and has several staff members who can provide technical support. By calling 525-3289, you can directly talk to a support person  You can also ask them to contact another support person using the two-way radio.  They will then call you at school.

Computer Services is open and available year round.  Their offices are open during Winter, Spring, and Summer vacation.  The district's staff directory contains the home phone numbers of the Computer Services support team, and most do not mind being called at home for emergencies.

Dave Schumer, K-12 technology support staff, visits each school building once a month to assist with any needs our school staff may have.  Questions or problems for Dave are written down and placed in a notebook kept in the computer lab.

Another source of support is the technology facilitator of each school.  I have recently taken over that position and attend technology facilitator meetings every month.  The staff at computer services attend these meetings and discuss technology news that facilitators then share with their schools.  For example, at the April meeting we discussed how all schools will eventually be entirely Ethernet and all schools will be taking attendance online by Fall 2000.  As facilitators, it is our responsibility to insure our building staff are kept up to date on district technology issues.

The mail server, web server, and other district-level servers are backed up every other day.  All schools, however, are responsible for backing up their own on-site servers.
