Unit Overview: We all live together!

Through this unit the students will show an understanding that people live in homes that are sometimes different. The students will learn that even though their home may be different from the other students, all of their homes are a part of a neighborhood. The students will then become aware of how their neighborhood is a part of the city, and that the city is a very important place called a community. Different aspects of the city/community will be explored by using various forms of technology, through many different in-class activities, and with several class field trips. The students will learn how they can be a good citizen and they will learn about many of our Community Helpers. They will explore our city and see how it is a part of a county. The students will continue to build on this knowledge and discover how their county is a part of their state, and that their state is a part of the U.S.A.

At the conclusion of this unit, We all live together!, the students will be able to tell others where they live, and they will be able to share facts about their home, neighborhood, city/community, county, state and country.
