About Jill McCue

I grew up in Charleston, Illinois knowing that I wanted to be a teacher. My grandmothers, many aunts and uncles, and parents were teachers. I attended Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois and double majored in Deaf Education and Dance Education. My student teaching experiences were at Oak Park River Forest High School for dance and Forest Road Elementary School and White Plains New York School for the Deaf for deaf.

I began teaching for Northwestern Illinois Association, NIA, in 1986. For my first two years I worked at Tefft Middle School and Parkwood Elementary School. In 1998 NIA decided to open a high school location, and I volunteered to start this program at Streamwood High School. I have taught a variety of subjects at the high school and my favorite are math, science and health. I co-sponsor Jr. National Association of the Deaf and enjoy seeing the students interact in after school activities.

I live in Bartlett, Illinois with my husband, Mark, and 3 children, Samantha, Matthew, and Madeline. In the summer the children and I move to our summer home in Neoga, Illinois so we can enjoy swimming, boating and small town life. Mark visits on extended weekends and uses vacation time to relax with us.

I enjoy traveling, bike riding, dancing and reading.
