Hi, my name is Jill McCue. My name sign is McCue. I will be working with your student this year as a teacher, case manager, club sponsor or in all of these positions.This web site was designed to provide families of NIA students with useful information about Streamwood High School and the NIA program at SHS. I am using total communication or T.C. to introduce this web site. T.C. is NIA's preferred communication method as it provides students with sound, sign and speechreading so that all students can understand the most possible.
I helped open the Streamwood High School Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program in 1988 after teaching at both Tefft and Parkwood. I really enjoy working with the high school level students and the faculty at SHS. Please feel free to contact me by phone, note, or email anytime you have a question or concern.
I hope you will find this web site helpful. Use the links at
the top and bottom of the page to go to the various topics. I included
my schedule, syllabi of my classes, and classroom rules and building procedures
for discipline and attendance. Take a look at the resource links about
hearing loss, signing and subjects that I teach. In the Biography section
I provided information about Junior National Association of the Deaf or
Jr. NAD. This is a club for the NIA students and I hope your student will
participate as often as possible. I have also included technology projects
that I have developed and used with my students. I feel strongly about
giving your child the technology skills that will be required to be successful
in the future. Finally I included my professional growth activities. It
is so important for the students to know that we are all life-long learners.
