Second Grade KidPix Slideshow--Shown as a QuickTime movie. For this project, I teamed with the second grade teachers to create a technology-based curriculum project for their study of The Water Cycle. Students created a KidPix slide show with pictures and text as a culminating activity. Click your Browser's Back button to return to this page The Third Grade Social Studies curriculum studies the city of Chicago. As an enrichment activity in the computer lab, we researched the Chicago Flag Web Site. Students presented the meaning of each star and stripe in a PowerPoint presentation. Fourth Grade builds upon the knowledge of Chicago, learned in third grade, by comparing and contrasting to another city located near 47û N. Latitude, as is Chicago. We expanded upon our knowledge of PowerPoint by including charts and graphs created in newly introduced spreadsheets. We use the Science Solar System curriculum as an avenue to present information and discuss linear and non-linear presentations. In previous grades, students learn linear presentations through KidPix and PowerPoint. Hyperstudio allows students to create buttons, similar to web links, so that the user may determine what information is seen next. |
