• "Where In The World Am I" is a wonderful project that not only meets Illinois State Standards in Geography and Technology but also encourages higher level thinking for students. The project allows students to use real life skills in geography while at the same time exposing students from around the world to different cultures and environments. The Internet is wonderful tool that exposes students to other cultures and environments that they wouldn't have the opportunity to experience otherwise. The project was design to encourage students "love of learning" in both the Social Sciences and with Technology. With the growing use of technology in everyday life, it is important that students have exposure to it and understand the power that it posses for learning. In the end, hopefully students will continue to visit this site to see the posting of other students from around the US and the world while at the same continue to sharpen their geography skills and continue to get exposure to different cultures and environments. In conclusion, I always tell my students that one of the most important skills they should master in life is the ability to read and locate items on a map. This skill will not only save them time, but will also fill their lives with less frustration in the long run!!!
