Your first step is to take a picture of
yourselve next to a major landmark in your area. The
landmark should be one that others can identify from around
the world or a landmark that your area is known for.
Make sure your picture is in jpeg format and
is no larger than 200 pixels. Send
your picture via e-mail as
an attachment along with
your paragraph.
Your second step is to write a short paragraph
that contains your geographical clues or information about
your location. The paragraph should include the following information.

First, a major landmark of the area or location. Second, the type of region
you live in (Midwest United States, etc.), Third, one or two
major characteristics of your environment or culture.
Fourth, the longitude and latitude of yourlocation.

The paragraph should be no longer than 8
sentences long and should be written
as Word document and sent to me
via e-mail as an attachment.
Make sure you use
spell/grammar
check!!! (F7)
Your third step is to get you information and picture "OK"
by your teacher or an adult. Then email your picture and paragraph to
jrnorman@pekin.net. The picture and paragraph will then be approved by the project
coordinator and posted on the On-Line Project page. (Click on the button to view the page)
Please allow one week for your picture to be posted. Of course,
you can also use the On-Line Project page to try to locate
other people from around the world. To check your
answers click on the evaluation button.
Your fourth and final step
is to share your information with your teacher and classmates.
Your teacher might also want to make modifications to the project to
fit your class. (Teachers, feel free to e-mail me any suggestions
you feel I could make to make this project site better)
