About MeFun and Family |
| I grew up in a small town in rural Iowa. After many years of working in the business world, marrying and having two children, I decided to return to college and obtain my teaching degree. We were relocating to Indiana, which proved to be the ideal time to attend the University of Indiana at Ft. Wayne. After graduated in 1992 and spent the next few years substituting at schools in the Auburn, IN area. Auburn was a wonderful place to raise a family. We also enjoyed the Auburn, Cords, and Deusenburg cars as well as the world's largest car auction around Labor Day annually. We made many close friends in Auburn and still like to return there to visit when we have the opportunity. I have two sons, Adam, 21, a Service Advisor for Knauz BMW, who loves playing guitar and frisbee golf. My other son, Tyler 19, is a recent high school graduate and will be attending Iowa State University, majoring in Civil Engineering. Tyler loves to sail on Lake Michigan. Some of my hobbies, include swimming, quilting, reading, and recently I started biking some of the wonderful trails in NE Illinois. I especially enjoy biking along Lake Michicgan. I too enjoy sailing, but haven't had much time on the lake as I would like. I also have a newfoundland, golden retriever cross dog named Bentley, whom I enjoy walking and playing with. I teach 7th grade science and math in a suburban school district, Robert Abbott Accelerated Middle School:Waukegan Public School, Robert Abbott Middle School. I am currently working on integrating more technology into my classroom, combining math and science instruction, and performance based assessments. We recently adopted the Connected Math Program, so I am enjoying implementing it into my classroom
