Project: Virtual Travel

Date: Summer Term July 22-30, 2001

Fall Term October 1, 2001-May 31, 2002

Purpose: Students will receive virtual postcards and e-mail from all over the world. Students will learn geography and about different places around the world.

Subjects: Social Studies, Geography, Language Arts

Grade level: K-6 (I have a second grade classroom, but participants will be accepted in grades K-6)

Summary: My classroom is looking for participants all over the world! We want to learn as much as possible about different cities, states and countries. My students will send out e-mail to as many people as possible. We will request the recipient to respond with a brief e-mail message about their place of residence and a virtual postcard if possible. We will then chart where virtual postcards have been received from on a classroom map.
