For the last three years I have been teaching third grade at Serena Grade School.  Where is Serena Grade School?  I am glad you asked.  Serena is a little rural town located about 15 miles Northeast of Ottawa, Illinois on Route 52.  The town itself consists of the school, a few houses, the grain elevator, the Serena Cafe, and Nelson's Garage.  It was a bit of a shock to move to this area and teach here after living in Schaumburg, IL for the first 22 years of my life.  I have adjusted for the most part, but I still call Schaumburg my true home.  Now, back to my teaching career.  In addition to teaching, I have also been the technology assistant at Serena Grade School for the last two years.  This year I will add the role of the gifted teacher for students in grades 3 through 8 to my resume.
