My lifeI was born and raised in Chicago , Il. I attended Catholic schools for elementary and high school. I have a B.A. in Social Sciences from Michigan State University, an M.S. Ed in Learning Disabilities, and a Ed.D. in Educational Psychology from Northern Illinois University. I have worked as a cashier, social worker, librarian, special education teacher, and college professor. My current research interests focus on the evaluation of programs for adult learners. I am one of the evaluators for the Secretary of State's Workplace Education Grant program, and I have published work on programs for at-risk Nursing students. I was Technology Coordinator for the School of Education, which involves faculty and staff training and developing a Technology Plan for NCATE approval. I have been married to James Burke, an Information Systems Specialist, for 28 years. I have two daughters, Janelle and Larisa, in high school. I enjoy traveling, reading, and walks in the woods with our new puppy Chai. I live in St. Charles, IL, two blocks from the Fox river. My travelsI have recently returned from a two week trip to London and Edinburgh. I have been to Nova Scotia and Alaska, but my favorite area of the country is the desert Southwest.
