The WebQuest Page - This site is designed to serve as a resource to those who are using the WebQuest model. It provides excellent examples broken down by grade level and category. WebQuests are designed to use learners' time well, to focus on using information rather than looking for it, and to support learners' thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis and evaluation. Included is an example matrix of projects. The Inquiry Page - A collaboratory connecting teachers to projects, conferences, organizations, and each other. The Global Schoolhouse/Lightspan - This site contains lots of collaborative projects, communication tools, and professional development resources. The Apple Learning Interchange - Thousands of ideas for units, lessons, email projects, etc. Springfield is a contributor to this web site. Curriculum, Classroom, and Library Center - Links to all kinds of teacher resources. About Elementary Educators - All kinds of resources, lesson plans, and links to related sites. Resources for teachers - This site contains lots of links to sites in various categories including : clip art & fonts, copyright web sites, lesson plan sites, educational freebies on the internet, citing electronic sources, search engines for students, teacher rated top ten internet sites, and books. Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators - This is a categorized list of sites useful for enhancing curriculum and professional growth. It is updated daily to include the best sites for teaching and learning. Education World - This is a good one-stop spot for teachers. It contains many categories related to education and is searchable. It also searches the internet for information. It includes monthly activities, lesson plans, book reviews, etc. Bigchalk - Resources for teachers, students, and parents. Includes a search of Homework Central. Bravenet - This site offers many free services to people who are creating websites. Scholastic Teachers Homepage - Here you will find lesson plans & reproducibles, professional resources, books, online activities, and more. Teacher Files - The pages are full of resources, ideas, activities, lesson plans and educational clip art for teachers. Peer Mediation - This site gives information on how peer mediation can be used in an upper elementary classroom. wNetSchool - An internet primer for using the web in your classroom. Schools Online Training Page - This site is a group of tutorials for people who are using the web in the classroom. Classroom Connects - Information on citing internet sources. Graphics by Dezign - On this site you will find an ever growing offering of original high quality web graphics for use in web page development and design. They had exceptional holiday templates that would be loved by elementary age children. The templates included a large selection of clip art that would work well on the particular page. The How To section of this site gave some basic information that would be helpful for novice web page makers. Web Teacher - This will allow you not only to understand and use existing Web content, but also how to develop your own Web content for classroom applications. It contains a Web Primer with all the basics. WebMonkey - A comprehensive site for web site developers. You’ll find tutorials, articles and reference materials on every aspect of web development. WebMonkey for Kids - This page is made for the child that wants to learn how to make their own web page. They have divided the site into several sections which make it easy to navigate. Web Site Design - This site explores some of the basic principles of web site design. There are many useful articles and links. Building a School Web Site - A step-by-step guide to creating a site that any novice webmaster can use. Following the presented format is similar to cooking from a recipe. Students and teachers can collaborate on this interactive journey. The process is broken down into "Five Easy Pieces"-- files, words, pictures, colors and links. HTML is explained in simple terms so that it can really make sense! This site is a must for beginners at web development. Web-Enabled Database Technology - An overview on how web-enabled databases work and how to create one. Javascript for Teachers - Cut and paste javascript for teacher websites. Techie Tips - Information for the beginner on digital cameras, scanners, and various software.
