    Great project idea.  I particularly like the powerpoint presentation of the student's products for their families.  What a great way to finish up the school year!
    The Techie Tips will be very useful, particularly if you use parent volunteers to help the students complete their pages, although it might be a bit too time consuming.
    Your evaluation is very well thought out.  It will be very useful if you plan to do this again next year.

    Great idea to liven up the topic of communities and make it more relevant to your kids. As to your concern of one internet hookup, can the students be put into small groups and then rotated through several stations so that they are all busy at the same time?  In addition to the internet you could have stations that have tourist brochures,  books on Springfield, etc.

    Also, what do you plan on having the students do with the information they find in their research?  Some suggestions:  create a new and improved travel brochure or poster on Springfield, make a hyperstudio stack, or a KidPix slide show.
