MY OPINION ON NORMA SCAGNOLI'S VISION:

Norma did a good job in presenting the evolution of educational media to the present moment, and the implications the new technologies will have in the learning process in the next few years.

I cannot agree more with her in the sense that these new technologies are only tools that instructors should master to use for their teaching purposes, and to make the teaching-learning process more effective.

I think her work clearly shows how the new learning environment will be, what it will demand on the part of students, teachers, administrators and corporations. I would only add to that the important role played by the community: it is not only the role of the school to enhance the learning opportunities of everyone to the maximum but also -and foremost- the role of parents and government officials. So, only by having active parent involvement and consistent educational policies at the local, state and federal level will the educational needs of the students of the year 2020 be met.
