              HOW TO MAKE A SPINACH PIE

The objective of this presentation is to lead you step by step through the preparation and cooking of a spinach pie. You will also learn the basic procedure for the cooking of any pie.

              BUT BEFORE WE START...

                STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
 
 
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Cover a baking pan with the crust and prick all over its surface with a fork to avoid puffing.
  • Bake the crust alone for 5 minutes. This is the secret for the crust to remain crispy.
  • Select nice, fresh and tender spinach. Boil and chop it, or use already packed frozen spinach.
  • Spinach is a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin C and an excellent vegetarian source of protein.

 
 
  • Separate the chopped spinach a little bit .
  • Beat the eggs and add them to the spinach in a mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper and mix well. The eggs serve as the unifying element of any filling.
  • Add four tablespoons of grated cheese and mix well. It's always better to use parmesan cheese grated thick. This adds to the consistency of the filling.
  • Pour the filling into the already pre-baked crust and cook for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the pie from the oven and decorate it with 6 slices of soft cheese, dividing the pie into equal portions.
  • Bake the pie for other 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted. And... serve!
