Fun with Probability! The Probable Pen in the Cereal Box Results as of May 7, 3:00 pm CST

Over the 1000 mark, we have collectively purchased more than 16,000 boxes of cereal! Click here to see a list of submissions so far. Also, see the comments page. (Check out one enchanting anecdote.) Also, a new graph of pen distribution. Our statistics to date:

• Max: 95
• Min: 6 (29 Students)
• Median: 14.00 (First time we left 15.00 in a while!)
• Mean: 15.81 (Very close to the previous 15.75)
• StDev: 7.78
• Count (Students): 1109 (Represents 17,538 die rolls)

And our latest histogram (this shows the distribution of rolls for the 47 reporting classes):

We now have a new graph. The following bar chart shows the distribution of pens by color. Notice that each pen is (approximately) equally likely to be found in the cereal box.
