1944 - A "Bug" is born!

grace hopper
Grace Hopper is responsible for the term 'bug' for a computer fault. The original 'bug'was a moth which caused a
hardware fault in the Mark I. Hopper was the first person to 'debug' a computer. She is pictured here with Howard Aiken who supervised the engineering team that developed the Mark I at Harvard. The Mark I was completed in 1949.

I think knowing this is important because it shows how our language continues to change to reflect our world.
