Originally from the east coast, my family and I moved to Illinois is 1985. I spent 15 years at home raising my children but have recently ventured back into the real world. I graduated from Emory University in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I taught first and third grades in New Jersey before moving to Springfield. While a stay-at-home mom, I was active volunteer in a variety of community organizations. Highlights of my involvement include my tenure as PTO president, participation as a board member of the Springfield Public Schools Foundation, serving as secretary of Camp COCO and Camp Care-A-Lot, and being a candidate for the Springfield School Board. Two of my children attend the Springfield Ball Charter School where I teach half-time (fulltime starting in the fall of 2001). I also have a high school junior and a  seventh grader. I love to exercise, scrapbook, play on the computer and eat anything chocolate! After completing the CTER program, I hope to find the perfect job where I can work with kids, play on the computer and make a small fortune. Click here to see my online professional portfolio.
