There are four views of
TimeLiner, Data, List, Compact, and Banner. The Data View offers a
"bird's eye view" of your information. The List View is exactly what
is says, a list of your information. The Compact View compresses the
information as points in time or ranges. The Banner View will create
banners of the information with all kinds of pictures, events,
colors, flags, etc.
For the Web page we will be using the Compact View.
Double Click on the TimeLiner icon

Choose New from the icon which will
appear
From here you will be asked to choose a time line type.We will be working in the Standard Time line mode. After selecting Standard click on OK.
You
will now start to add the information into the boxes. The Tool bar at
the left of your screen will allow you to add New information,
Delete old information, Edit existing facts,
Hide, Include, Expand or Compress facts.
When you have entered your fact, you
will need to include the date under the When column and the
fact or information under the What column. When you are done
be sure to save the information so the next group will be ready to
enter theirs. ![]()
You can customize the Event Font, Size, Color & Style. To do this highlight the event, then choose Set Event Font.... from the Format menu.
After all information is entered,
you will need to select the type of timeline you are creating. To do
this you should click on the compact view. 
From here you are ready to follow the getting your time line ready for the Web!
