The images we put in our web pages can come from different sources:
- Form scanned images or photographs
- From pictures done in Paintbrush, Microsoft Image Composer, Adobe, and any source like these.
- From Clipart in different programs
- From the Internet.
How do we get pictures from the Internet?
The most important thing is that if we copy pictures in our files, those pictures must be from free sources, or with permission from the authors.
There is an infinite number of possibilities in the Internet. The process to get them is
- get the URL of free clipart. (the easiest way is to browse in the Web, by using the web browsers)
- Find the images
- Click with the right key of the mouse on the image, and a dialogue like this will appear:
![]()
You can then "Save the Image As..." and you give a name and save it. Pay special attention to where you are saving it, if you do not have a disk or a folder where you store your images, I recommend saving on the desktop, so it will be easier to find them when you want to add them to your web site, or archive them in a folder.
4. When you decide to insert an image you proceed as instructed in "Insert an Image" but you take the images from your own files.
Organize your Images Archive.
It is very important that you organize your archive, because if you have to work with images on different projects, it will help you a lot, having them organized by types, or topics. A way of classifying them is by use:
- Backgrounds
- Animated
- Icons
- Buttons
- Lines
Or by topic:
- Animals
- Headings
- Science
- Art
- Etc.
