1. The schedule for the following week is posted on the bulletin board near the door in the computer lab each Monday before that week. (i.e. the schedule for December 8-14 is posted on December 1)
2. Suggested time slots for the following grade levels are:
K-5
30 minutes each
6-8
42 minutes each
3. The limit of sign ups in a given week is one. However, exceptions may be made if a class is working on a special project and needs more time. See Sue for guidance. In addition, middle school teachers may sign up two or more times in a given day since they work with more than one group of students.
4. The first choice for word processing should be the writing center (room 141). The schedule is posted in front of the room by the door. In addition, now that the writing center has Internet access, classes may also use that location for searches.
5. Computer experiences which include drill and practice or higher order thinking skills are suggested in grades K-3 as the overwhelming majority of students do not know how to type. Once keyboarding skills have been introduced in the fourth grade, word processing activities are strongly encouraged.
6. In order to protect the software
repertoire of each grade level, only use software that is listed under
your grade level. Refer to the software grids in Techie Tips notebook.
