Dollar General
Back to School Grants
4 - $5,000 grants awarded to assist schools in meeting some of the financial challenges faced in implementing new programs or purchasing new equipment, materials or software for their school library or literacy program.  Apply by mid August.
ETCEP
Similar to collecting Campbell's Soup Labels and General Mills Box Tops for Education, the Educational Technology & Conservation Exchange Program collects used laser and inkjet printer cartridges for recycling.  In return, schools are given points to redeem for new technology products.  On going project.  Currently Lincoln Junior Women's Club is collecting cartridges for the benefit of all area schools.
Toshiba America Foundation
Small Grants Program for K-6 Science and Math Education
  • 75 grants of up of $1,000 for hands-on science and math materials
  • Application Deadline:  5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, Monday, October 2, 2000
  • Project Timeline: Projects must occur some time between November 15, 2000 and May 15, 2001.
  • Download application or email to request one by mail
  • MarcoPolo Professional Development Program
    Apply online for grants for on site training for teachers to use Internet content in the classroom.  Requests must be made for the entire district.
    Must include:
  • information on the group to be trained
  • how the training group will train other teachers
  • dates for training
  • computer and Internet statistics for where the training will take place

  • Requests are ongoing.
    Youth Garden Grant
    The National Gardening Association sponsors 500 Youth Garden Grants.  Each grant consists of an assortment of quality tools, seeds, and garden products generously contributed by leading companies from the lawn and garden industry.
  • must show demonstration of a child-centered plan that emphasizes children directly learning and working in an outdoor garden. 

  • Deadline is November 1.
    The Robert H. Michel Civic Education Grants
    Teachers in the 6th through 12th grades can apply for grants for projects in history, government, social studies, political science, and education.
    Submit letter or e-mail message of preliminary proposal and include
  • objectives for the project
  • a brief plan of work
  • a tentative budget
  • a description of the means proposed to evaluate the project's results
  • information about how The Center's financial support will be recognized. 

  • Preliminary proposals may be submitted at any time.  Awards will be made quarterly in late March, June, September, and December.
